Lori Loughlin looked lovely as ever on the green grass carpet at the “A Time for Heroes” carnival event in Los Angeles benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. We chatted with the star about fashion, massages, her full house of children, and – oh yeah – starring in the new
90210.
What brings you here today to the “A Time for Heroes” carnival?Anything that involves children is really important. And this foundation has done such and incredible job for so many years. And now they’re going global and they’re going around the world and they’re trying to get into villages that are not easy to access to get the proper medications and knowledge and what not. If they keep going it seems like they’ll be on the right track and hopefully they’ll put a stop to HIV being transmitted to children. Are you working a carnival booth here today?I am, but they haven’t told me yet what I’m doing. So I have to get my mission after the press line. Are your children here today? What are they looking forward to?You know, I love that I have my kids here today and they have such a good time. And it’s great when you have an afternoon when you can be a child yourself and see things through their eyes again. I haven’t told them yet that the Cheetah Girls are performing. They love the cheetah girls. What’s the best part about being a mother?I think everyday of mother hood surprises you. Your kids can stump you everyday. You have to think on your feet. Trust your guy instinct. Listen to your gut instinct.
You look very summery. What are you wearing? This is a James Perse dress and my little sweater is Chloe. What’s your summer fashion rule of thumb? You know. I think whatever you feel comfortable in, and what makes you feel good. Don’t always follow the trends! Like when the skinny jean was in – that’s just not a good look for me. Just know what works for you, and go with it. How do you indulge yourself?I love a good massage. You know I actually have a wonderful girl who comes to my home – she’s terrific. And facials I try to keep up with. There are people in town that I go to.
Are you looking forward to being in 90210? Are you excited to play a mom on the show?Yes, I’m excited to be on 90210. I play a mom everyday of my life. But I’m excited to be on this show. I think it’s going to be really good. And it’s so much fun to be on show like that because it’s so dramatic and over the top, and it’s fun to play those scenes.
What’s the most thrilling part about being involved with this show? You know. I guess the potential of where it could all go. I mean it already is getting so much media attention and so much hype. And that’s exciting. Of course, there’s the flip side that these are big shoes to fill and it could all fall apart within a month of airing. But there’s a lot of people excited.
Do you know any of the plotlines?I’ve heard some, but I can’t say! I can’t, they’ll kill me!Anyone you’re looking forward to maybe having romantic scenes with anyone on the show? Anyone you’d like your character to be interested in?Well, on the series, I’d like to continue kissing my husband. No, my real husband! I hadn’t really thought about that.
Any fabulous summer plans?Well you know what. I’m going to start working on the series. So it will be week to week. Maybe doing day trips to the beach or whatever. Right now, nothing concrete because I just don’t know what my work schedule will be.*WireImage
