Recognize her face? Of course you do. She’s been in lots of high-profile flicks and top-notch TV shows.
Judy Greer’s resumé is quite impressive. Film credits include
The Wedding Planner,
13 Going on 30,
Elizabethtown,
American Dreamz, and
27 Dresses. And she’s appeared on the small screen in shows like
Arrested Development,
Two and a Half Men, and
Californication. She’s been working steadily since the late 1990s.
Then why don’t you know her name? Because, until recently, she’s been cast as the quirky sidekick – the lovable, awkward (and not quite as pretty) best friend. Well, Judy Greer just got her biggest break yet, from none other than the Ashton Kutcher.
Greer stars in ABC’s newest comedy (produced by Kutcher),
Miss Guided. The series centers around Becky Freely (Greer,) a woman who returns to her high school alma mater to become a guidance counselor. Becky soon learns that working at a high school is much like attending high school. It’s filled with angst-filled awkward moments and embarrassing situations. Who hasn’t thought: “If I knew back then what I know today …” things would be different. Well, Becky proves that statement false.
She strives to fit in among the “cool kids” (popular teachers) while remembering the humiliating brace-face days of being a teenager. Through her silly antics and lovable quirks, she shows her students that fitting in isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be.
Catch Miss Guided on ABC at 8:30 pm on Thursdays.
